They Called Me NATURE BOY! Part 9

I was pleased by the number of readers who guessed the names of the two Hollywood Stars that were the subject of the Nature Boy blog series.

For those of you still wondering:

No 1. was: JOHNNY WEISSMULLER

Born in Romania in 1904, died 1984; He swam in the 1924 Olympics and picked up four medals, including three gold. He won 2 gold medals in 1928 Olympics. In 1932, he was noted for his portrayer of a "swinger" (Tarzan) in a role that five others played before him. He made 12 motion pictures as this fictional character. He ended this role in 1948.

He was distinctive for his voice, which was mimicked by a famous female television comedian, Carol Burnette.

No 2. was: LEO CARILLO, Jr.

who played Poncho in the Cisco Kid movie serials at your local movie house on Saturday morning and who later played the same role on the Cisco Kid TV shows of the 1950s. Several streets and buildings in Los Angeles are named after his famous family.

He was of Mexican descent. He appeared in many silent, as well as "talkies". He was most noted for being a "side kick" in an early television Western, that went from l950-56. Born in Los Angeles, 1880, died in 1961

Yes folks...the Nature Boy (ME) was sometimes a "prop" or "lure" used to procure women for these two stars...but then...I was so CUTE how could they possibly fail?
